Community Groups and Climate
Community groups play a key role in communicating climate change. They create spaces for us to exchange information, collaborate, and communicate local issues. They are able to translate climate information to local culture and custom, as well as communicate a community's roll in climate change, local solutions, and adaption strategies to a changing climate. Community groups are key partners for connecting on-the-ground climate realities to policy makers, press, scientists, and other community groups. With one foot on the heartbeat of the neighborhood, community groups roles and responsibilities adapt to the shifting needs and resources of the community. Join the Climate Coalition!
NGOs and Climate
Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) play a key role in reducing the impacts of climate change. They promote awareness and create plans of action through advocacy, information, and training. NGOs create formal and informal partnerships with community, corporate and government sectors in order to combine on-the-ground conservation with issue-specific policy and advocacy. NGOs monitor environmental impacts and program effectiveness, in some ways NGOs can be considered community watchdogs. Join the Climate Coalition!
Small Businesses and Climate
Small Businesses are on the pulse of local economy and local health. Small businesses have an entrepreneurial commitment to efficiency, profit, and community relations. Because of their one on one contact with the community, they play a key role in reducing the effects of climate change. They do this by implementing and thus promoting sustainable practices. This creates an opportunity to reduce their environmental impact and save money while educating their staff and customers on the importance of green practices. Join the Climate Coalition!
Corporations and Climate
Corporations play a key role in mitigating the effects of climate change because of their large-scale impact and large-scale opportunity for environmental sustainability. Corporations can monitor and evaluate efficiency and financial standards. Corporations can develop and implement cutting-edge technology and programs that will reduce carbon emissions. They can influence consumer choices and market demands. They can use environmental sustainability as a competitive advantage over other corporations. Join the Climate Coalition!
Educational Institutions and Climate
Educational institutions are key to researching climate change. They promote innovation by providing opportunities to investigate climate science, policy, technology, and ideas. Educational Institutions create spaces for discussion and analysis of topics around climate change, impacts, and solutions. Educational Institutions also train individuals in environmental leadership. They are key to equipping people with the knowledge and networks necessary to lower our environmental impact both personally and globally. Join the Climate Coalition!
Governement and Climate
Government plays a key role in mitigating the effects of climate change by communicating local issues to a wider audience and bringing them to regional, national and international arenas. Government reflects popular opinion on a larger scale and translates that into information that can be used for policy development. Government creates regulatory systems and enforcement mechanisms that protect and sustain the environment. Industries related to sustainability could expand as governments provide support systems, programs, incentives and managing partnerships. Join the Climate Coalition!
Individuals and Climate
Individuals play a key role in reducing the effects of climate change. Individuals can make choices that will lessen their environmental impact on a daily basis. Individuals can examine the way they consume energy, they can learn about the impacts that their consumption has on the global community then decide how to embrace a lower impact lifestyle. Individuals can advocate for the environment by voting, writing letters to their government representatives, talking to their neighbors, getting involved in their community, schools and social networks. Ultimately, individuals will educate their family and friends though their example of a low impact lifestyle. Join the Climate Coalition!
